Abstract/Contents:Eptam, Vernam, Embark and Maleic hydrazide were evaluated for use as grass growth retardants by determing the effect of these chemicals on growth and seedhead production on tall fescue and orchard grass. Application rate and timing were also tested. Retardents were applied once in 1981 and 1982. A table provides treatment, application rate, month of application, and leaf blade length, flowering shoot height, seed heads, and dry matter yield. April application of Eptam, Vernam and Embark were most effective in retarding growth.
