Abstract/Contents:1981 update of test established 9/76 at a Kentucky location to evaluate the long-term quality of certain new and experimental fine fescue varieties. Test includes 10 varietes in 3 replications of red, chewing, and hard fescues. Three pounds of nitrogen per 1000 sq. ft. have been applied annually during the fall and early winter. Both a broadleaf weed and crabgrass preemergent herbicides are applied annually. The mowing height has been maintained at 2". A table provides 1977-81 annual and 5-year average visual quality ratings (1 to 9;9=best quality) with significant differences indicated for 1981. 5-year average ratings ranged from 2.9(High light) to 6.4(C-26).
