Explains that many people believe that watering a field during the summer is a harmful to the environment because of the water that is used to maintain the field. States that "the reality is that the water used to maintain a field is paying dividends by providing erosion control , a carbon dioxide scrubber, an oxygen producer, and last, but not least, a venue for entertainment." Notes that there are things the industry can do to help the environment and change the view of the public by following the best management practices for water use. |
