| Abstract/Contents: | "Adelphi Kentucky bluegrass sod was removed from the plot area on May 29, 1981. The sod was cut to a depth of 1/4 to 1/2 inches. Variables studied were irrigation, nitrogen fertilization and use of a preemergent herbicide. The Dacthal treatment was very effective in removing crabgrass competition. When Dacthal was coupled with periodic irrigation and 1 1/2 lbs N/1000 sq. ft., the Kentucky bluegrass recovery was 2-3 times faster." |
