Critically appraises the status of biological and integrated pest management (IPM) research , discusses some of the problems of implementing IPM in turf, and identifies areas of promise for future research. Includes a summary of the arthropod pests of turfgrass (soil inhabiting, those that consume leaves and stems, and those that suck plant juices); and current status of IPM (insecticides, sampling, monitoring, and risk assessment, biological control, cultural control, host-plant resistance, and prospects for IPM). |
