| Abstract/Contents: | The results are presented of Physical tests on 38 sands and 2 mixtures (peat + lava sand + sand and Hygromull + sand + peat + lava sand) conducted on behalf of the Bundesinstitut fur Sportwissenschaft. The media were assessed for their suitability in sports field preparation, but no investigations into turf grass growth responses are reported here. The factors studied were: particle size distribution, total pore volume, specific gravity, water retention and water-holding capacity, permeability, compaction, survival under wear and tear, pH value and color. |
