Abstract/Contents: | "This is the 1st year of a 3 year study of the effects on turf quality of using a mulching vs. a catcher mower. This study sponsored by Toro was started on 4/20/79. In addition to clippings, fertilizer and earthworm population influence on thatch are variables. Measurements taken to date, in addition to quality ratings, are weekly fresh weights, and monthly dry weights. Later, thatch depths, soil and plant element makeup, etc. will be assessed." |
