Abstract/Contents: | "These demonstration plots of 35 different grasses (mostly numbered experimentals at the time of establishment) have shown a great difference in tolerance to low levels of available iron. A-20 was established vegetatively, and after 8 years the influence of available iron, in the strip of sod used for plugging, is still evident. Under conditions of this test, and based on year-to-year observations, Ram I, Touchdown, Victa and K9-116 (a Kentucky bluegrass) have performed well. Maintenance - these plots have not been fertilized, and weeds have not been controlled. The mowing height has been at 1 1/2-2". Pathological diseases have not been a problem." |
