Abstract/Contents: | "This alkaligrass was taken down to greens height as part of a U.S.G.A. [United States Golf Association] study on maintenance of alkaligrass. The alkaligrass greens up in the spring well ahead of creeping bentgrass. It looks good until it begins to seed very heavy. After seeding the alkaligrass begins to improve in appearance, and by fall it makes a fair putting surface. The alkaligrass was contaminated with Penneagle seed at the time of planting and individual seed characteristics of the Penneagle are dramatic." |
