Abstract/Contents:"The 11 varieties in this trial were seeded on 5/20/76. The seeding rate was 2 lbs per 1000 sq. ft. (However, Ensporta was seeded at 1 lb.) These plots have not been fertilized since establishment. The growth rate and mowing requirements for these perennial ryegrasses do not seem to be as great as for adjoining Kentucky bluegrasses. Cold stress has not been a problem, but melting-out thinned several varieties during June-July, 1979. The cold tolerance of these and many other turf varieties have been determined in the laboratory. This information is to be published, and it will be distributed at a later date. Citation, Yorktown, Derby and Pennfine have performed well in this test."
