Abstract/Contents:"Dollar spot is one of the largest fungicide targets in North America and, therefore, represents an economically-important disease for possible alternative pest management products such as biological controls. Isolates of dollar spot that are infected with naturally-occurring fungal viruses are being examined for potential as biological control agents in turf. Result to date have established that single applications of this agent can be as effective as multiple applications of fungicide. Experiments this year are focused on developing appropriate methods to evaluate the fate and persistence of these agents when introduced into the environment."
