Abstract/Contents:"A synthetic isoparaffin-based product made by Petro-Canada has been tested for turfgrass disease control since 2004. Initial field tests with this product showed phyotoxicity at higher rates, but this was overcome in 2006 with the addition of a new forumulants. In 2007, a pigment dispersion was also added to improve the effectiveness of the product against turfgrass diseases. Field tests with this product showed that it could perform as well as conventional fungicides in many tests against the most common summer turfgrass disease, dollar spot [Sclerotinia homoeocarpa Benn.]. For the winter turfgrass diseases, pink snow mold [Microdochium nivale (Fr.) Samuels & Hallett] and gray snow mold [Typhula spp.], combinations of the product with half rates of various fungicides were as effective as the full rates of several conventional fungicides. Current experiments include investigations of the active components of this product including the activity of the pigment dispersion against turfgrass diseases."
