Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted to evaluate the effects of root control bags on the growth of green ash plants. Details the methods and materials used in the study, stating that "green ash seedlings were planted in the field in Stillwater, OK, with or without root control bags willed with loam soil amended with 25% peat, 8 lb/yd3 18N-2.6P-10k slow release fertilier, and/or 2lb/yd3 hydrogel." Reports that "after one growing season, plants in the field without root control bags were significantly taller than plants in bags" and that "after two growing seasons... caliper at 1 and 12 inches was significantly greater without the bag." Concludes that "soil amendments in the bags did not affect plant height or caliper." |
