Abstract/Contents: | "As in many years during the last decade, rainfall levels in many regions have been well below the average -- in winter as well as in summer -- and warnings of drought, together with exhortations to preserve water are commonplace. Sports ground managers should ensure that, if their irrigation facilities are unable to cope with prolonged dry periods of weather, they rectify matters as promptly as possible. The costs of not doing so could be very high." |
