| Abstract/Contents: | Kentucky bluegrass plots were established in irrigated rough adjacent to a fairway; 3'x3'plots were separated by 1' wide buffer strips at the Rochester Golf Club in Rochester, MI. Six replications of 19 insecticide treatments were applied on 9/15/88. 22 days later the experiment was evaluated by digging 0.75 sq. ft. sections from the center of each plot, examining thatch and soil for live grubs. The pesticides that provided the best control were: Dylox 5G, Sevin 4SC, Sevimol 4SC, Mocap 5G, Mocap 10G, and Dylox 80SP. Phytotoxicity was also observed in Mocap treatments particularly if not applied evenly. Table lists all pesticides used, application rates, and the resulting number of grubs/sq. ft. RH 5849 has excellent potential as an insect growth regulator. |
