| Abstract/Contents: | As a result of a previous study, it was determined that an ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure for summer brown patch, so all trials were conducted preventatively. Summer brown patch trials were conducted on irrigated, annual bluegrass (Poa annua) cut to 0.5", on golf course fairways in 3 locations in Michigan. Applications were on 3 replications of a random block design, using a 6'x 9' plot size, with additional applications at 7, 14, and 21 day intervals, or as otherwise noted. The best fungicides were: the experimental compounds Spotless, H6573, HWG 1608, et al., ICIA 523, Prochloraz, Banner, Rubigan, and Bayleton. Some mild phytotoxicity was observed for Rubigan. Table lists 62 treatments, some that are variations on application rates or combinations, the control, application rates, application intervals, observations and dates observed, and statistical significance. |
