| Abstract/Contents: | TLC has a general maintenance plan that also controls patch diseases which can be illustrated by a case study. Summer patch was found throughout a client's site, but it was most serious in the parking lot islands. Turf was irrigated daily at 0.15"-0.20", hollow tine aerified 2-4 times per year. Phosphorus and potassium deficiencies were found. Fertilization remedied the P and K levels as measured one year later. Aqua Gro L was applied at 8 oz/1000 sq.ft. in May and in June (30 days later). Pre-emergent crabgrass control was applied in early May. Broadleaf weed conrol was applied in spring and fall. Where disease symptoms were worst, in May and in June, Rubigan was applied at the rate of 1 oz/1000 sq.ft. Ringer's Lawn Restore was applied in May (20-2-13 with Team), June, July and September at the rate of 10 lb/1000sq.ft. Fertilizer program using 4 lb N and 2 lb K/year (40-60% of the N being C.R.N.) plus one or two treatments of Chipco 26019. The program was most successful. |
