Abstract/Contents:Crabgrass controls working at 99% can allow up to 100 plants to grow. TLC uses backpack sprayers with Acclaim to shoot to kill crabgrass on sight. Service calls have thus been reduced and customer satisfaction increased. During late May and throughout June Acclaim was applied pre-emergent in the hopes of preventing crabgrass breakthrough. Crabgrass regerminated less last year than the year before. It is important to maintain a high pressure with the T-jet sprayer. Once the pre-emergent treatment is watered in it does a good job. Because crabgrass is most difficult to control in the thinned areas, apply extra fertilizer to the thin areas to encourage thicker grass that will naturally resist the crabgrass.
