Abstract/Contents:Provides golfers with practice tips to potentially increase skill and produce better turf conditions throughout periods of temperature and traffic stress. Suggests practicing "in a linear pattern by placing each new shot directly behind the previous divot," and to "leave a strip of turf between each line of divots" to allow for the removal of the smallest amount of grass. Addresses lateral growth and seedling protection to provide rapid divot recovery. Concludes that "the linear divot method is recommended because it minimizes turf loss, and leaving a strip of turf between linear divots leads to faster turf recovery."
