Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the potential drawbacks of "rushing an athletic field project without a true understanding of your goals and objectives." States that "the physical components of an athletic field root zone are directly related to its ability to withstand traffic and determine to a large degree its tolerable 'hours of use'." Suggests the importance of choosing the right program for both the field's potential and limitations. Adds that root zone layering, nutritional soil testing, and compaction testing assist in establishing the tolerable "hours of use," the maintenance required, and the potential problems of drainage and compaction. |
