| Abstract/Contents: | "In a four years lawn trial in Kirkenes (N 69 degrees 15'; E 30 degrees) Poa pratensis was the best species under these extreme conditions. The cultivars were ranked in the following order: Ag 401>Sydsport>Ag 452 (=Cello) = Ag 463 (=Haga) > Birka = Merion > Primo = Ag 436. Also the Festuca rubra cultivars gave good turf standard and were ranked as follows: Polar > Erika = Rs 512 (=Maxim) > Pennlawn > Reptans. On the other hand, the cultivars of Agrostis tenuis did not do satisfactorily, but Boral slightly better than Tracenta. If A. tenuis is to be used it should be strongly restricted. Phleum nodosum showed good standard and the two cultivars Evergreen and Sport were equal." |
