Abstract/Contents:"A report is made on 37 cultivars of Festuca rubra tested under close mowing (5-8 mm) in four trials. Data are given on persistence, compactness, growth and appearance at various seasons, and freedom from diseases. The best cultivars in these trials are discussed with brief notes on ten of the most important. In particular, comments are made on the good cultivars of slender creeping red fescue, with special emphasis on the problems of identifying and defining the importance in the U. K. of dollar spot disease (Sclerotinia homoeocarpa)."
