Abstract/Contents:Overviews "three common turfgrass diseases in California [which] are obligate parasites; that is they can only live as parasitic diseases. These three are rust, smut, and mildew." Explores whether wet conditions or cloudiness cause disease, overirrigation and its importance in disease control, and another factor leading to low sugar, high nitrogen. Mentions four faculative diseases seen in winter months, including Fusarium patch, Cirtucium red thread, Ophiobolus patch, and Typhula grey snowmold. Provides recommendations on how these diseases can be potentially controlled.
