| Abstract/Contents: | Overviews provisions made to the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA), namely that "the U.S. [United States] Environmental Protection Agency must classify all pesticide products for either 'general' or 'restricted' use, and restricted use pesticides may be used only by, or under direct supervision of, certified applicators." Explains that FIFRA provides for two types of applicators: private applicators and commercial applicators. Adds that "anyone in California desiring to use or posses a restricted material must obtain a permit from the County Agricultural Commissioner of the county in which the restricted material is to be used or possessed." Mentions that "the State Plan identifies four groups of commercial applicators: agricultural pest control operators, technicians employed by local public health vector control agencies, structural pest control operators, and all other commercial applicators." |
