Mentions the construction of five bridges, which are "designed to withstand the onslaught of bad weather and washouts, and will not collapse." Explains that in the winter of 1982-1983, the Carmel River overflowed for the first time since 1969, causing the loss of "a total of 5 greens and about 35 large trees, approximately 750 ft. [feet] of riverbank was destroyed."
