States that the growth retardant cycocel may cause a reduction of growth in wheat plants that "may be up to 50 percent of the normal length." States that "there may be some anatomical effects in treated plants; for instance cell walls are normally thicker and the number of vascular bundles increases." Discusses that use of growth retardants may allow heavier applications of nitrogen to be applied. |
