| Abstract/Contents: | "The experiment was conducted on a 1-year stand of tall fescue in a shaded corner of a field on a commercial sod farm near Louisburg, NC where brown patch had been a problem during previous years. Fungicides were applied with a CO2 backpack sprayer in 2.5 gal water/1000 sq.ft. All treatments were applied on 18 Jun, 2 Jul, and 17 Jul with the exception of the 28-day treatment of ASC66811 which did not receive the 2-Jul application. Treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with four replications; plots were 5 ft. wide by 10 ft. long. All cultural practices were carried out by the sod farm manager. The summer was hot and very dry. Disease severity was rated every 2 weeks; disease pressure was moderate. On 18 Jun, % brown patch (BP) of all treatments except Aliette 80WP at 6.4 oz a.i. was significantly less than the control. On 2 Jul, BP of all treatments except Aliette 80WP at .4 oz a.i. and ASC66811 EC 0.83 at 0.06 oz a.i. was significantly less than the control. On 30 Jul, the Aliette 80WP at 6.4 oz a.i. and ASC66811 EC 0.83 at 0.06 oz a.i. showed high incidence of disease. Visible phytotoxicity was observed on plots treated with SAN 832F at 2.0 oz a.i. after the initial spraying." |
