Abstract/Contents:Discusses the necessities that plants need to live, including light, food, air and water. Recommends collecting data on problem greens concerning the amount of light the turf is obtaining to accurately improve plant health. Notes that "airflow is of utmost importance for maintaining healthy turf on putting surface" and explains that air cools the surface. States that "adding a pigment to your spray program WILL not cool the surface." Mentions that protecting turfgrass from UV radiation could be a potentially important task due to summer and heat stress.
