Abstract/Contents: | States that at the Professional Golfers' Association (PGA) Merchandise show in 1976, there was a lack of Independence Day themed equipment for celebrating the bicentennial of the United States. Suggests that there may have been a large market for such items. Discusses the lack of marketing data regarding the golf industry, and that is impossible to tell whether statements about percentages of sales to golf pros are accurate or not. Notes that the PGA has not yet been able to establish itself as a business authority, and that the Club Managers Association of America (CMAA) has only done limited research into the roles of club managers. |
