| Abstract/Contents: | "The experiment was conducted on bentgrass at the Turf Field Center, NCSU, Raleigh, NC in an area which had shown severe symptoms of dollar spot and brown patch in previous years. The research area was managed as per bentgrass golf green and was irrigated as needed. Air temperature at the time of applications averaged 81 degrees F and soil temperature averaged 83 degrees F. All treatments were applied at 14-day intervals on 20 Jun, 5 Jul, and 24 Aug with a CO2 backpack sprayer in 2.5 gal water/1000 sq. ft. Plots were 5 ft. wide. Treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design with four replications. Turf color (TC) of grass without disease, % brown patch (BP), and % dollar spot (DS) were rated on 18 Jul, 17 Aug, 22 Aug, and 31 Aug. Disease pressure was moderate for brown patch and low for dollar spot due to the dry weather. Plots treated with Aliette 80WP at 6.4 oz ai and ASC66811 0.83EC at 0.06 oz ai showed the highest percentages of brown patch. There were few significant differences among treatments for dollar spot." |
