Abstract/Contents:Presents a study conducted for the National Allied Golf Association (NAGA) by Navicom to "determine the factor affecting consumer behaviour or "why" golfers play more or less, spend more or less and enjoy the game, more or less." Details the methods and materials used in the study, stating that "based on over 5,000 interviews, the Canadian Golf Consumer Behaviour Study (CGCBS) confirms that Canada has a participation rate of approximately 27 percent of the potential golfing population." Reports that "the study found that what drives golfers to play more is the emotional attachment to the game. That emotional attachment is rooted in five thematic benefits that people indicated they received from playing the game." Concludes that "there are many aspects of the Canadian Golf Consumer Behaviour Study (CGCBS) that will require discussion and debate to determine how best to address the need to further engage the 4 million plus golfers that are currently only marginally engaged."
