Abstract/Contents:"Fungicide applications were initiated prior to the appearance of R. solani blighting. Treatments were applied on either a 14 or 21-day interval on the dates footnoted in the data table. Fungicides were sprayed with a CO2 pressurized (36 psi) sprayer in 2.5 gal water per 1000 ft2. Soil was a Chillum silt loam with a pH of 6.4 and 2.6% OM. Percent of plot area blighted was determined visually on a 0 to 100% scale. Ratings that exceed 5% blighting would be considered unacceptable control on a golf course fairway. Disease pressure was light to moderate between 23 Jul and 3 Aug, and moderate to severe between 10 and 24 Aug. Between 23 Jul and 3 Aug, all treatments had significantly reduced blighting and were providing commercially acceptable brown patch control. Lesco TwoSome applied on 14 day intervals (+ 16 days since last applied) continued to provide acceptable control on 10 Aug, but the same rates applied on the 21 day interval (+ 21 days since last applied) did not. All treatments, except Lesco TwoSsome at 3.0 fl.oz. (21 day interval), significantly reduced blighting on 10, 18 and 24 Aug. On 10 Aug, the 21 day interval treatments providing commercially acceptable control were Chipco 26019, SAN 619, Rizolex, SAN 832, and Banner. SAN 832 was the only treatment to provide commercially acceptable control on all dates, and SAN 832-treated plots exhibited best quality on 24 Aug. Plots treated with Systhane, RH7592, Lesco TwoSome (14 day interval), SAN 619 and Rizolex also exhibited good quality when the study was concluded."
