| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the use of digestate, a byproduct of anaerobic digestion, as a fertilizer on turf. Describes the process of anaerobic digestion and how it produces energy. States that the Sports Turf Research Institute (STRI) and Walker Organic Management has been conducting trials to determine how effective digestate is as a fertilizer. Notes that the trials are in an early stage, but that so far the digestate has worked fairly well, although "a relatively large volume of material needs to be applied to obtain a response in growth." |
