| Abstract/Contents: | "This evaluation was conducted at the Landscape Management Research Center, University Park, PA, on a mixed stand of Citation II, Birdie II, and Omega II perennial reyegrass, maintained under home lawn/golf course fairway management conditions. Fertilizer was applied to the test area as follows; 0.5 lb N per 1000 sq ft (urea 46-0-0) was applied on 7 May and 6 Jun, and 0.4 lb N per 1000 sq ft (Lebanon 10-6-4) was applied on 16 Jun. On 22 May, Dyrene at 4 fl oz per 1000 sq ft was applied to control red thread and pink patch in the test area. Individual plots, 3 ft x 15 ft, were arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Treatments were applied with a CO2-powered boom sprayer, using T-jet 8004 nozzles, at 30 psi, in water equivalent to 2 gal per 1000 sq ft. Granular formulations were hand-scattered from a shaker-top jar. Applications were made on 13 and 26 Jun, 10 and 24 Jul, and 8 Aug, except as noted in the table. The experimental area was irrigated with 1 inch water daily, applied at 1600 hrs. Treatments were visually evaluated for Rhizoctonia blight on 7 Aug and for dollar spot on 20 Aug. Data obtained were subjected to analysis of variance and Waller-Duncan K-ratio test. The majority of the chemicals tested in this experiment provided excellent control of both dollar spot and Rhizoctonia blight." |
