Abstract/Contents:Reports that many states have passed legislation concerning the dumping of clipping yields in landfills due to the amount of space they take up. Describes alternatives to dumping grass clippings in landfills, like "grasscycling" where homeowners are encouraged to leave the clippings where they fall, but this could potentially cause aesthetic problems for golf course superintendents. States that "in light of all these limited disposal options, some superintendents are examining the possibility of reducing the amount clippings generated on their golf courses." Includes other recommendations concerning the disposal methods of grass clippings on golf courses from superintendent Jim Piquette at Firefly Golf Course.
