| Abstract/Contents: | "The Davey Plant Health Care Program is a systematic approach to developing strong, vigorous plants through the use of diagnostic checkups, prescription pest management, proper nutrition and cultural practices. It is the comprehensive care of lawns, trees and shrubs designed to strengthen the plants' natural ability to resist certain insect and disease pests. Davey provides services Coast-to-Coast and continues to pave the way in new technological advances in the green industry. Patented equipment, such as the lawn care Customerizer, allows technicians to spray lawns more safely and efficiently by selective metering of chemicals only where needed. Our unique drift control nozzle helps precisely target spray applications; thus minimizing off-site drift. Arbor-Green, our exclusive patented fertilizer, supplies nutrients trees require for vigorous, healthy growth. The Davey Company takes pride in our in-house training program, unique in the green industry. New hirees are placed where they can learn the most in the field. Plant health care begins with the check-up. The first procedure during the checkup is the inspection of the lawn, and all trees and shrubs. The technician then informs the client of the diagnosis and what corrective procedures need to be taken to return the lawn, trees or shrubs to good health. Preventative health care measures will also be recommended at this time. Because plant health care emphasizes a comprehensive, systematic approach to plant care through preventative measures and proper maintenance, pesticides are required less often and can be reduced by 75%. |
