| Abstract/Contents: | "The Powadrill has a pto drive and is mounted on the rear linkage of the Sisis Hydromain Twin 25, or suitable compact tractors and turf trucksters. Three driving heads with four drills in each are mounted in line behind the tractor. This allows two lines of six drills, 15in long, to be lowered into the turf to give 10in depth at 4in spacing. The Terralift, from C&P Soilcare, decompacts and aerates the subsoil, without disturbing the surface, by injecting compressed air and soil conditioners to a depth of 90cm. Frequent aeration using the Ransomes TM80 will not only improve soil texture with minimum disturbance to the playing surface, but also promoted healthy growth, thatch control and wear resistance. Slitting (up to 11in deep) is an excellent way of relieving compaction problems and with the McConnel Pass Master 3 users can also scarify and roll in the same sweep. The Robin Dagger CB412 (the Mk2) has been designed for longevity in the tough working environment that it inhabits. Care has been taken to ensure that the injection spike lift mechanism is rugged enough to deal with most subsoil conditions. Charterhouse Turf Machinery supply a full range of Verti-Drains for shatter tining operation. These machines penetrate the ground to a depth of 16in and can be used to produce an intensive pattern of 2in between each tine." |
