| Abstract/Contents: | It is and has been believed that using fertilizers on turf increases the quality and improves the color. However, it is argued that turf only requires a small amount of nitrogen and no other fertilizers such as phosphorus or potash are required. It is argued that NPK fertilizers cause increases in diseases and Poa annua infestations. It is suggested that only a small amount of slow-release nitrogen be used on fine turf and no other form of fertilization. |
