| Abstract/Contents: | Discusses the water requirements for specific climates. Highlights the history of watering from "don't water and don't roll" to becoming more prevalent during the later twentieth century. Details the irrigation companies selling watering systems and the use of sprinkler systems on golf courses. Describes automatic watering that is applied to account for the moisture loss of different plants. Includes fusarium is present when the soil is overwatered and advising that "soil should be generally moist, but not saturated." Concludes that there should be a watering advisory service that tells the characteristics of the turf to meet its water needs. |
