Abstract/Contents:"Many annual broadleaf weeds are best controlled with preemergent herbicides, including prostrate spurge, oxalis, common chickweed, and others. Several experiments were established to compare herbicides for control of these and other weeds. Gallery provided excellent preemergent broadleaf weed control at rates of 0.25 to 0.75 lb/A depending upon the species. Dimension controlled several broadleaf species but will require rates about twice that required for crabgrass control, except for chickweed which is controlled with low rates. Ronstar controls many broadleaf weeds except for chickweed and is inconsistent on spurge. Barricade will control certain species but rates need to be refined. Barricade is similar to pendimethalin except that pendimethalin was more effective on dandelion and plantain."
