Abstract/Contents: | Discusses turf that was damaged due to hot, dry weather, as well as non weather related factors such as herbicides, insects due to lack of insecticides, and fertilizers. Focuses on the effects of fertilizer burn on turfgrass, which occurs when there is an imbalance of solute to solution in the fertilizer mix. Provides a list of suggestions to potentially help avoid fertilizer burns, including altering fertilizer choice, checking the soil moisture, being aware of the air temperature and humidity, and reducing fertilizing rates based on saline levels in the soil. |
