Abstract/Contents: | "In seedling turf, losses of seedlings may occur due, for example, to post-emergence damping-off disease, caused mainly by Cladochytrium caespitis Griffon & Maublanc (1). Whilst a well prepared seedbed can do much to prevent the disease(6), it may be widespread when seedling growth is slow, due for example to low soil temperatures in early-spring and late-autumn sowings (4). The effect of fungicide seed coatings on post-emergence damping-off of turfgrass seedlings has not been determined. A series of field trials comparing fungicide seed treatments for the control of post-emergence damping-off of two turf grasses is described. |
