Abstract/Contents:Discusses couchgrass winter dormancy and the different factors that affect it, including environmental conditions and seasonal change. Provides detailed descriptions of the physiological factors that affect the couchgrass and cause it to go into dormancy. Suggests strategies to reduce dormancy effects, including variety selection, avoiding placing stress on the grass, plant hormone manipulation, masking the grass with a green pigment, and using carbon products. Includes information on two trials performed at the 2012 Victorian Golf Course Superintendents Association that focussed on various products on the market to reduce couchgrass dormancy.
