Abstract/Contents:"The study was conducted at the Valentine Turfgrass Research Center, University Park, PA, on a mixed stand of creeping bentgrass and annual bluegrass. The plots were maintained under golf course fairway management conditions, and mowed three times per week at a height of 0.5-in. The soil was Hagerstown silt loam with a pH of 7.1, and the area was not fertilized in order to increase disease pressure. Plots were 3 ft x 6 ft, and arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replications. Applications were made with a CO2-powered sprayer at 40 psi using a TeeJet 11008E nozzle in water equivalent to 2 gal per 1,000 sq ft. Dollar spot incidence was assessed as the number of infection centers per plot on 25 May, 1, 8, 19, and 28 Jun, and 3, 14, and 19 Jul. Data were subjected to analysis of variance and multiple comparisons of the mean values were made using the Waller-Duncan k-ratio test (k=100). Dollar spot development occurred relatively early May 2012. Most treatments provided excellent control as compared to untreated plots, such as Emerald, Encartis, Xzemplar, Lexicon Intrinsic, numerous tank-mix combinations including QP Enclave and QP Foursome with or without QP Fosetyl-Al, Curalan, and Honor Intrinsic (<1.0 infection centers per plot). Velista, tank-mixes containing Velista, PSU EXP1, tank-mixes containing PSU EXP3, and Torque provided good control (<5.0 infection centers per plot)."
