| Abstract/Contents: | Presents a study conducted by the University of Maryland to "compare PoaCure and Exonerate... for their ability to control annual bluegrass postemergence in golf green height creeping bentgrass." Details the methods and materials used in the study, stating that "all treatments were applied twice on a 21 day interval in two timings." Reports that "both rates of Exonerate caused substantial and unacceptable injury to the creeping bentgrass" and that "PoaCure caused discoloration and thinning in creeping bentgrass," but had about 95% annual bluegrass control. Concludes that "PoaCure is an exciting herbicide, but much more research will be needed to better understand how best to use it safely and effectively, especially for autumn applications to sites with large populations of annual bluegrass." |
