Abstract/Contents:Discusses how "concert season," a period of time during the summer months where bands are showcased in various stadia, is affecting turf quality and maintenance. Notes that the turf manager will deploy a cover to protect the playability of the turf. Details the protection covers, noting that they are "made up of plastic interlocking tiles...[they] are designed to protect the pitch from large scale damage, even short periods of deployment will harm the turf." Presents a study conducted "to determine what we could do to preserve the turf throughout a long period of deployment and, more importantly, how quickly we could establish the turf ready for play after a deployment period of six weeks." Details the methods and materials, stating that "the area was divided into three blocks, each block was divided into three main plots." Reports each of the results of the treatments of growth regulators. Concludes that "there is clear benefit to applying a plant growth regulator prior to any period of deployment."
