Abstract/Contents:Discusses reasons as to why potentially highly effective insecticides failed to control grubs even when applied at the correct rate and time of year. Suggests that irrigation may be a key factor in influencing insecticide effectiveness. Compares different insecticides and their reaction to irrigation rates. Concludes that "most grub failures are caused by failing to irrigate immediately after application."
