Abstract/Contents:Discusses temporary greens and the dissatisfaction many golfers tend to have with them. Explains why using temporary greens is more beneficial for the turf during the winter months, stating that "in the interests of all the members and in an attempt to preserve the high quality of our greens, the course is closed to play until conditions warrant resumption of traffic." Reminds that even though golfers may show disapproval for using the temporary greens, it will be better for the playing conditions of the turf in the long run which they will then come to appreciate.
