| Abstract/Contents: | Suggests the impact golf shoe spikes have on golf course greens and eliminating them from golf clubs. States that in the 1950's tests were conducted by the United States Golf Association to determine "1. How effective golf spikes were and 2. If they were necessary in proper golf." Concludes that "with fewer spikes, we might have better golf for less money." Questions the superintendent certification program in the 1970s and asks "how much weight will the tag of 'certified super' carry when in competition for say a job." Discusses the "grandfather clause", where if a man has been in Class A for 20 years or more and sends $25, he will automatically be certified. |
