| Abstract/Contents: | "Information is given, for 58 cultivars of smooth-stalked meadow-grass (Poa pratensis) on establishment and spread of rows, heading dates, number of heads, color, habit of growth and height at various times, freedom from disease, and leaf size. The tables give provisional groupings according to height and heading date, height and number of heads, and leaf length and width. For heading date, earliness of spring growth and leaf size, comparison is made with information from other countries. Brief comments are made on the main features - heading, height, number of heads and habit of growth - in relation to the selection of cultivars for "low maintenance" regimes. Some information is also given on rows of rough-stalked and flattened meadow-grass (P. trivialis and P. compressa)." |
